Here’s what to expect as you welcome your new maintenance professional to the team:
✅ Onboarding
Begin your standard onboarding process to set your new hire up for success. Make sure they have the tools, resources, and introductions needed to hit the ground running.
✅ The 45-Day Preview Period
Your 45-day preview period starts on the students’ first day of work. Think of this as a working interview—a chance to observe, train, and evaluate. During this time, you’ll:
- Assess your new hire’s skills and work ethic.
- Identify areas of strength and growth potential.
- Provide hands-on experience and team integration.
This low-risk, high-reward model allows you to make an informed decision about long-term fit.
✅ 15-Day Check-In
Around Day 15, we’ll check in with you to hear how things are going. If any concerns or questions have come up, we’re here to support you and your new team member. Transparent feedback helps us step in if needed.
✅ Day 45 Decision
By the end of the preview period, you’ll let us know if your new hire is a long-term fit:
- They’re staying: No action required—congrats!
- They’re not a fit: Just let us know via email and provide a few details on why. Your feedback helps us refine our training and better prepare future candidates.
✅ Placement Fee & Program Support
If your new hire remains with your team past the 45-day mark, we’ll send a $2,000 placement invoice. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, this fee allows us to continue providing free training to individuals seeking careers in apartment maintenance.
